CompositionCITAC 2MG CAPSULE 10 is used to prevent the body from rejecting a transplanted kidney, liver, or heart. It works by suppressing the immune system to stop it from attacking the new organ.
It contains tacrolimus, a calcineurin inhibitor immunosuppressant. Take it at the same times each day as prescribed. Do not stop or change the dose without your doctor's guidance, as this could lead to organ rejection.
During treatment, avoid excessive sun exposure and use sunscreen, as immunosuppressants can increase sensitivity to sunlight and may raise the long-term risk of skin changes. Avoid eating grapefruit or drinking grapefruit juice, as it can affect how this medicine works.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have any kidney or liver problems, high blood pressure, diabetes, or are taking other medicines (including supplements and herbal remedies). Blood levels of this medicine are monitored regularly to ensure the dose is correct. Report any signs of infection, unusual tremors, high blood sugar, or changes in urine output to your doctor promptly. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning a pregnancy before starting treatment.
