Chlorovue Eye Caps is used to treat acute bacterial conjunctivitis (pink eye) and other superficial bacterial infections of the eye affecting the conjunctiva or cornea. It contains chloramphenicol, an antibiotic that helps clear infections caused by susceptible bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus and Haemophilus influenzae.
Use this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor, applying it to the affected eye for the full duration advised, even if your symptoms improve early. Wash your hands before and after use, and avoid touching the tip of the applicator to your eye or any other surface to prevent contamination.
Avoid wearing contact lenses while you have an eye infection and until your doctor confirms it has cleared, as lenses can worsen irritation or spread infection. Do not share towels, pillows or eye make-up with others while you are being treated, as this infection can spread easily.
Tell your doctor if you have had a previous allergic reaction to chloramphenicol or any blood disorder. Stop use and contact your doctor promptly if you notice increased eye pain, worsening redness, vision changes, or unusual bruising or bleeding elsewhere in the body.
