CompositionCERIZ Tablet is used to relieve the symptoms of seasonal and year-round allergic rhinitis, such as sneezing, a runny nose and itchy eyes, and it is also used for chronic hives (urticaria) and other allergic skin reactions. It contains cetirizine, a second-generation antihistamine.
Cetirizine works by blocking H1 receptors, preventing histamine from triggering the inflammatory responses that cause allergy symptoms, and it generally causes less drowsiness than older antihistamines, though it may still cause drowsiness in some people.
Take this tablet as prescribed, with or without food, at the same time each day as your doctor prescribes, and continue treatment regularly during allergy season or as long as symptoms need control.
Tell your doctor about any other conditions or medicines you take before starting. This medicine can occasionally cause drowsiness, so take care while driving until you know how it affects you.
