It contains amlodipine, a calcium channel blocker, and keeping blood pressure under control and improving blood flow to the heart helps lower the risk of complications.
Amlodipine works by relaxing and widening blood vessels, which lowers blood pressure and improves blood flow to the heart, easing the chest pain associated with angina.
Take this tablet with or without food, at the same time each day as your doctor prescribes, and continue taking it regularly even if you feel well.
Tell your doctor if you notice significant swelling of the ankles or feet, or unusually fast or irregular heartbeats. This medicine can be taken alone or alongside other blood pressure medicines as your doctor advises.
