Britam 50 Tablet is used in adults and adolescents with epilepsy to control partial-onset seizures and reduce their associated symptoms.

Uses of Britam 50 Tablet are:

• Partial-onset Seizures: Helps control seizures that start in one part of the brain.
• Symptom Control: Reduces loss of awareness, involuntary movements, and confusion linked to seizures.
• Long-term Seizure Management: Regular use helps reduce seizure frequency and support daily life.

• Consume the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush or chew the tablet.

• You can take this medicine either before or after food.

• Avoid exceeding the dose recommended by your doctor.

• If you wish to stop taking this medicine, ensure you consult your doctor first.

Britam 50 Tablet consists of brivaracetam (50 mg), which works as follows:

• Binds to Synaptic Vesicle Protein 2A (SV2A): Brivaracetam attaches itself to a specific protein in your brain called synaptic vesicle protein 2A or SV2A. This protein plays a pivotal role in managing electrical activity within your brain.

• Stabilises Electrical Activity: By binding to SV2A, brivaracetam aids in creating a balance in electrical activity in your brain which helps manage epileptic seizures.

• Inhibits Rapid Spread of Seizure Impulses: Brivaracetam works by restricting the rapid spread of seizure impulses within your brain.

• Enhances Normal Neuron Signalling: By enhancing normal signalling between neurons, brivaracetam prevents excessive excitation that can lead to epileptic seizures.

• Store Britam 50 Tablet at room temperature, optimally around 30 degrees Celsius.

• Keep away from excessive heat and direct sunlight.

• Avoid damp or moist areas; keep in a dry place.

• Ensure the tablet pack is out of reach of children.
