Betnesol Injection is used to rapidly manage severe inflammatory and allergic conditions, including severe allergic reactions, severe asthma and rheumatoid arthritis flares, as well as acute adrenal insufficiency when corticosteroid therapy is indicated.
It contains betamethasone, a potent synthetic corticosteroid, given into a vein or muscle by a healthcare professional in a clinical setting, with monitoring of blood glucose and blood pressure throughout treatment.
Monitoring for secondary infections, maintaining blood glucose control, and following the healthcare team's instructions for tapering when discontinuing are important.
Before receiving this injection, the healthcare team will review for any active infections, diabetes, liver disease or other medicines. Report any significant mood changes, injection site reactions or signs of infection.
