Betnesol Injection is used to rapidly manage severe inflammatory and allergic conditions, including severe allergic reactions, severe asthma, and rheumatoid arthritis flares, as well as acute adrenal insufficiency when corticosteroid therapy is indicated.
It contains betamethasone 4mg, a potent synthetic corticosteroid. It is administered intravenously or intramuscularly by a healthcare professional in a clinical setting with monitoring of blood glucose and blood pressure throughout treatment.
Monitoring for secondary infections, maintaining blood glucose control, and following the healthcare team's instructions for tapering when discontinuing are important.
Before receiving this injection, the healthcare team will review for any active infections, diabetes, liver disease, or other medicines. Report any significant mood changes, injection site reactions, or signs of infection.
