Bandy-Plus Suspension is used to treat intestinal worm infections in children, such as roundworm, hookworm, whipworm and threadworm. It is a combination medicine containing albendazole and ivermectin, and belongs to a group of medicines called anthelmintics (deworming medicines).
This medicine is also used to treat strongyloides and other worm infections that respond to this combination. It is usually given as a single dose or short course. Shake the bottle well and give the dose exactly as prescribed by the doctor, following advice on whether to give it with or without food.
Washing hands with soap before eating and after using the toilet, keeping nails short and clean, washing fruit and vegetables well and wearing footwear outdoors help prevent reinfection. Other family members may also need treatment.
Before giving this medicine, tell the doctor your child's weight and if your child has liver problems or other health conditions, and about other medicines your child takes; it is not suitable for very young or small children. It should not be used during pregnancy. Contact the doctor if your child has severe stomach pain, dizziness, a rash, yellowing of the skin or eyes, or unusual sleepiness. Do not stop giving this medicine unless the doctor advises you to do so.
