Axinate 120 Mg Injection 1 is used to treat severe and complicated malaria, including when vital organs such as the brain, lungs or kidneys are affected, or when a person cannot take antimalarials by mouth.
It contains artesunate, an antimalarial. It works by rapidly reducing the malaria parasites in the blood, helping control fever and organ complications.
It is given as an injection by a healthcare professional under close supervision, usually followed by a full course of an oral antimalarial.
Tell your doctor about any liver problems or pregnancy before use. After treatment, your doctor may check for delayed anaemia, as red blood cells can break down for a few weeks; report tiredness, breathlessness or dark urine.
