Atrodex C Eye Drops 5ml are used to treat inflammatory eye conditions that carry a risk of bacterial infection, controlling inflammation while giving antibacterial cover.

Uses of Atrodex C Eye Drops 5ml are:

• Inflammatory Eye Conditions: Treats steroid-responsive eye inflammation where infection is a risk.
• After Eye Surgery: Helps control inflammation and protect against infection after eye surgery.
• Painful Eye Inflammation: Eases painful inflammation at the front of the eye, with pupil widening to relieve discomfort.

• Wash your hands thoroughly before using the drops and avoid touching the dropper tip to any surface to prevent contamination.
• Tilt your head back gently, pull the lower eyelid down, and instil the prescribed number of drops into the affected eye.
• Close the eye gently for a few minutes to allow adequate absorption of the medicine.
• If using multiple ophthalmic preparations, maintain an interval of at least five minutes between applications and apply ointments last.
• Do not use for longer than prescribed and discontinue if symptoms worsen or no improvement occurs within the recommended duration.
• Contact lenses should generally not be worn during an active eye infection or inflammation unless specifically advised by a doctor.

Atrodex C Eye Drops 5ml contains the following active components:

• Atropine (1 % w/v): It is an anticholinergic agent that produces pupil dilation and cycloplegia, reduces ciliary muscle spasm, and relieves ocular pain associated with inflammation.
• Chloramphenicol (0.5 % w/v): It is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit, preventing growth and replication of susceptible bacteria.
• Dexamethasone (0.1 % w/v): It is a corticosteroid that suppresses inflammatory mediators and immune responses, thereby reducing swelling, redness, and irritation in ocular tissues.

• Store at room temperature in a cool, dry place.
• Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use.
• Protect from heat and direct sunlight.
• Do not touch the dropper tip to avoid contamination.
• Keep out of reach and sight of children.

• Maintain proper eye hygiene to prevent reinfection.
