Astide 100 MCG Injection 1 is primarily used to manage acromegaly, a condition where the body produces too much growth hormone. It belongs to a class of medications known as somatostatin analogues.
This medicine is also used to relieve symptoms associated with carcinoid tumours and vasoactive intestinal peptide-secreting tumours (VIPomas). Additionally, it helps control bleeding from enlarged veins in the oesophagus in patients with liver cirrhosis, prevents complications after pancreatic surgery, and manages other neuroendocrine tumours such as gastrinomas, glucagonomas, and insulinomas.
This medicine must be administered only by trained healthcare professionals through injection under the skin or into a vein. Before starting this medicine, inform your doctor about any pre-existing conditions like gallbladder disease, diabetes, thyroid disorders, heart problems, or liver and kidney impairment. Report any side effects you experience to your doctor immediately and continue the medicine for the duration prescribed.
