Amlocard S 5mg Tablet 14 is used for the following:

• Managing high blood pressure in adults

• Treating angina pectoris (chest pain)

• Reducing the risk of heart attacks and strokes

• Improving exercise tolerance in angina patients

• Decreasing frequency of angina episodes

• Lowering peripheral vascular resistance

• Relieving symptoms of coronary artery disease

• Managing hypertension as initial therapy

Follow these instructions while taking Amlocard S 5mg Tablet 14:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet.

• Take this medicine at the same time each day.

• You can take it with or without food.

• Morning administration is often preferred.

• Do not suddenly stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor.

• If you experience severe side effects, consult your doctor.

Amlocard S 5mg Tablet 14 is taken orally.

Amlocard S 5mg Tablet 14 contains s-amlodipine (5 mg), which works on the body in the following ways:

• Calcium Channel Blockade: S-amlodipine blocks special channels (called calcium channels) in the walls of blood vessels and heart muscle, preventing calcium from entering the cells.

• Blood Vessel Relaxation: By blocking calcium entry, this medicine causes the blood vessels to relax and widen (vasodilation), which reduces the resistance to blood flow.

• Blood Pressure Reduction: The widening of blood vessels lowers the pressure inside them, effectively reducing your overall blood pressure.

• Improved Coronary Blood Flow: S-amlodipine increases blood flow to the heart muscle by relaxing the coronary arteries, which helps prevent angina (chest pain) episodes.

• Decreased Heart Workload: By reducing blood pressure and vascular resistance, this medicine decreases the amount of work your heart needs to do to pump blood throughout your body.

• Store Amlocard S 5mg Tablet 14 in a cool, dry place at room temperature.

• Store in the original packaging to protect the medicine.

• Keep out of reach of children and pets.

• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the package.

• Reduce salt intake: Limiting sodium in your diet helps manage high blood pressure (hypertension). Try flavouring foods with herbs and spices instead of salt.

• Regular physical activity: Aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate exercise most days to help lower blood pressure and improve heart health. Activities like brisk walking, swimming or cycling are excellent options.
