Allercet-DC Tablet is used to relieve symptoms of allergic rhinitis, hay fever and the common cold, such as a blocked or runny nose, sneezing and watery eyes. It is a combination medicine containing cetirizine, an antihistamine (anti-allergic), and phenylephrine, a nasal decongestant.
This medicine is also used to ease nasal congestion and itching of the nose, eyes and throat caused by dust or pollen allergies. Swallow the tablet with water, with or without food, in the dose prescribed by your doctor. It is meant for short-term relief and should not be taken continuously for more than a few days unless your doctor advises.
Avoiding dust, pollen, smoke and other known allergy triggers can reduce symptoms. Steam inhalation and drinking warm fluids may also help clear a blocked nose.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have high blood pressure, heart disease, an overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, difficulty passing urine, or kidney or liver disease, and about other medicines you take. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. It may cause drowsiness, so avoid driving and alcohol if affected. Report palpitations or a severe headache to your doctor. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
