Acolate 0.05 % Nasal Drops 10 ML

Acolate 0.5 % Drops 10 ML is used for alleviating nasal congestion. The drops provide relief for individuals experiencing blocked nasal passages due to various conditions. • Xylometazoline Hydrochloride: This active ingredient is a sympathomimetic agent belonging to the class of imidazoline derivatives. Xylometazoline works primarily as a nasal decongestant, relieving nasal congestion caused by colds, allergies and sinusitis. By stimulating alpha-adrenergic receptors in the nasal mucosa, it induces vasoconstriction, leading to reduced blood flow and swelling in the nasal passages. This mechanism helps open the nasal airways, making breathing easier and alleviating discomfort associated with nasal blockages. Xylometazoline is rapidly absorbed after topical administration, with effects typically lasting between 6 to 12 hours, providing temporary relief from nasal congestion.

• Ensure your nose is clear by blowing it gently before use.
• Always wash your hands thoroughly before and after using the drops.
• Tilt your head backwards while sitting or standing or lie down with your head hanging over the edge of a bed.
• Drop the recommended number of drops into each nostril.
• Keep your head tilted back for a few minutes to let the drops spread throughout your nasal passages.
• Avoid blowing your nose immediately after using the drops.
