Zotaxime 100 mg Tablet DT is used for the treatment of susceptible bacterial infections in various parts of the body to eliminate infection and relieve associated symptoms.

Uses of Zotaxime 100 mg Tablet DT are:

• Respiratory Infections: Helps treat bacterial pneumonia, bronchitis, and tonsillitis.
• Urinary Tract Infections: Helps manage bacterial infections affecting the urinary bladder or kidneys.
• Ear and Throat Infections: Helps clear middle ear infections (otitis media) and throat infections.

• Swallow the whole tablet with a glass of water.
• Do not crush or chew the tablet.
• If you have difficulty swallowing the whole tablet, disperse it in water before taking it.
• Do not take more than the dosage your doctor has recommended.

Zotaxime 100 Mg Tablet Dt 10 contains Cefixime (100 mg), which works in the body in the following ways:

• Inhibition of cell wall synthesis: Cefixime stops the formation of bacterial cell walls by binding to and deactivating penicillin-binding proteins - enzymes that help make a major component of the bacterial cell wall known as peptidoglycan.
• Bacterial cell death: By disrupting cell wall synthesis, cefixime causes bacterial cells to break apart and die off.
• Resistance to beta-lactamase enzymes: Cefixime is very stable even when faced with beta-lactamase enzymes produced by many bacteria. These enzymes can destroy other antibiotics like penicillin but don't affect cefixime.
