Actamase Injection is used for:

• Managing severe bacterial infections of the skin
• Controlling serious bacterial infections in the lungs
• Combating severe bacterial infections in the stomach
• Addressing serious bacterial infections in the urinary tract

Administer Actamase Injection as follows:

• The injection is administered intravenously by your doctor or nurse.
• The injection could be administered slowly into a vein over 3-5 minutes or into a large muscle.
• It is crucial to complete the prescribed course even if symptoms improve earlier.
• Remember, skipping doses or stopping treatment prematurely may lead to inadequate control of the infection or the development of resistant bacteria.
• Always consult your doctor for specific advice on how to use this medicine.

Actamase Injection is administered intravenously or intramuscularly.

Actamase Injection contains the following components:

• Cefepime (1000 mg): Cefepime works by blocking essential proteins needed for developing and strengthening bacteria's cell walls. By disrupting the integrity of bacterial cell walls, cefepime causes lysis (the breaking down) of bacterial cells, leading to their death.
• Tazobactam (125 mg): It is a beta-lactamase inhibitor that works by inhibiting the enzymes produced by bacteria that can break down certain types of antibiotics, such as penicillins and cephalosporins. By inhibiting these enzymes, tazobactam helps piperacillin to be more effective against bacteria that may produce beta-lactamase enzymes and are resistant to other types of antibiotics.
