Zenflox Plus Tablet 10

Zenflox Plus Tablet can interact with other medications, including:

• Vaccines (Typhoid, Cholera, BCG): Zenflox Plus tablet may interfere with the effectiveness of vaccines. Consult with a healthcare professional regarding the appropriate timing of vaccinations. It is recommended to avoid live vaccines during treatment with Zenflox Plus. The use of inactivated or killed vaccines may be preferred.
• Antiepileptic: Carbamazepine may reduce the concentration of Ofloxacin in the blood, potentially reducing its effectiveness. Close monitoring of therapeutic response and adjustment of the dosage of either medication may be necessary.
• Blood Thinner: Ofloxacin can increase the anticoagulant effects of warfarin, leading to an increased likelihood of bleeding. Regular monitoring of blood clotting parameters and adjustment of the warfarin dosage may be required simultaneously with Zenflox Plus.
• Antacids and ulcer treating medicines: Medications like Aluminium Hydroxide, Magnesium Hydroxide, Cimetidine, and Sucralfate containing aluminium, magnesium, or cimetidine may decrease the absorption of cefixime. To avoid potential interactions, administering Zenflox Plus and antacids/ulcer treating medicines at least 2 hours apart is recommended.
• Medicine to treat excess uric acid: Probenecid may interfere with eliminating cefixime, leading to increased levels of cefixime in the blood. When used together, close monitoring of Cefixime levels and possible dosage adjustments may be necessary.
• Medicines for Arthritis (Methotrexate): Cefixime may decrease the elimination of methotrexate, potentially increasing its toxicity. Regular monitoring of methotrexate levels and adjustment of the dosage may be necessary when using Zenflox Plus with methotrexate.
• Diuretics/Water Pills: Co-administration of furosemide and Zenflox Plus may increase the risk of developing disturbances in the balance of electrolytes, such as low potassium levels. Regular monitoring of electrolytes and kidney function is recommended.
• Asthma Medicine: Ofloxacin may inhibit the metabolism of theophylline, leading to increased theophylline levels in the blood. Close monitoring of theophylline levels and dosage adjustment may be necessary when used simultaneously with Zenflox Plus.
• Pain Killers: Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as fenbufen or ibuprofen with Zenflox Plus may increase the risk of developing central nervous system (CNS) stimulation or seizures. Caution should be exercised, and CNS effects should be monitored.

Zenflox Plus Tablet can interact with foods, including:

• Dairy products: Dairy products, such as milk, cheese, and yoghurt, may decrease cefixime absorption. Taking Zenflox Plus at least 2 hours before or after consuming dairy products is recommended to avoid potential absorption interference.
• Calcium-rich foods and supplements: Calcium-rich foods and supplements can reduce the absorption of cefixime. It is advisable to separate the administration of Zenflox Plus tablets and calcium-rich foods or supplements by at least 2 hours to prevent decreased effectiveness.
• Iron-rich foods and supplements: Iron-rich foods and supplements can impair cefixime absorption. Taking a Zenflox Plus tablet at least 2 hours before or 2 hours after consuming iron-rich foods or supplements is recommended to avoid potential interaction.
• Caffeine and caffeinated beverages: Caffeine may increase the possibility of experiencing nervous system side effects, such as restlessness and anxiety, associated with the use of Ofloxacin. It is advisable to moderate the consumption of caffeine-containing products while using Zenflox Plus.
• Alcohol: Consumption of alcohol may increase the risk of side effects associated with Ofloxacin, such as dizziness, drowsiness, and impaired judgement. It is recommended to avoid or limit alcohol intake during Zenflox Plus treatment.
• Grapefruit Juice: Grapefruit juice can interfere with the metabolism of Ofloxacin, leading to increased blood levels and potential side effects. It is advisable to avoid consuming grapefruit juice while using Zenflox Plus.

Zenflox Plus Tablet can interact with diseases, including:

• Liver disease: Zenflox Plus Tablet should be used cautiously in patients with liver disease. The liver primarily eliminates cefixime, and a decrease in liver function can lead to higher levels of cefuroxime in the bloodstream, increasing the risk of side effects.
• Colitis: Zenflox Plus Tablet may worsen the signs of colitis, an inflammatory colon condition. Patients with a history of colitis should use Zenflox Plus Tablet with caution, as it may increase the risk of developing antibiotic-associated diarrhoea, which can be severe.
• Kidney disease: Zenflox Plus Tablet should be used cautiously in patients with kidney disease. The dose of Zenflox Plus Tablet may need to be adjusted in patients with severe kidney disease, as cefixime is eliminated primarily by the kidneys.
• Seizure disorders: Patients with a history of seizure disorders such as epilepsy should use Zenflox Plus Tablet carefully, as it can lower the seizure threshold and raise the likelihood of seizures.
• Tendonitis: Fluoroquinolones, including Ofloxacin, have increased the risk of tendonitis and tendon rupture.
• Myasthenia gravis: Zenflox Plus Tablet may aggravate myasthenia gravis symptoms, leading to muscle weakness and fatigue. Patients with myasthenia gravis should be cautious when taking Zenflox Plus Tablet.
• Diabetes: Ofloxacin, one of the active ingredients in Zenflox Plus Tablet, has been associated with an increased risk of hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) in patients with diabetes.

The recommended dose of Zenflox Plus tablets is once daily, with food, as directed by your doctor. The dosage may change based on individual factors such as the severity of the condition and response to treatment. It is essential to follow the suggested dosage and should not exceed it without consulting your doctor.  

If you or someone else takes an excessive amount of Zenflox Plus tablets by accident, it is essential to take immediate medical attention from your doctor or nearby hospital. An overdose symptoms include brain damage and may cause headache, dizziness and stomach upset.

If you forgot to take Zenflox Plus tablets, take them as soon as you recall or as your health care provider instructed. If the time for the next dosage is close, skipping the missed one is recommended and resume your regular dosage pattern. Never increase your dosage without consulting your doctor.
