CompositionZecort 6 Tablet is used to reduce inflammation and to manage a wide range of inflammatory and autoimmune conditions, including certain types of arthritis, asthma, severe allergies, inflammatory bowel disease, and some skin and eye disorders. It is also used after organ transplants to help prevent rejection.
It contains deflazacort, a corticosteroid. Take it exactly as prescribed, as the dose depends on the condition being treated, and usually with food or milk to reduce stomach upset. Do not stop this medicine suddenly without your doctor's advice, as the dose often needs to be reduced gradually.
With longer courses, a diet low in added salt and rich in calcium and vitamin D helps support blood pressure and bone health. Practising good hygiene and avoiding contact with people who have infections is sensible, as this medicine can lower your resistance to infection.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have diabetes, high blood pressure, an infection, stomach ulcers, or bone thinning, or are taking other medicines. Report signs of infection, mood changes, or worsening blood sugar. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before use.
