Xtraderm Cream 5 GM

Xtraderm Cream 5 GM is used to:

• Treat inflamed fungal skin infections with secondary bacterial involvement
• Manage infected eczema or dermatitis
• Reduce itching, redness, and swelling in mixed skin infections
• Treat superficial skin infections requiring antifungal and antibacterial coverage
• Control inflammation in infected skin conditions

Follow these instructions while using Xtraderm Cream 5 GM:

• Apply the cream exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
• Clean and dry the affected area before application.
• Apply a thin layer evenly over the affected skin.
• Wash your hands before and after use unless treating the hands.
• Avoid contact with eyes, mouth, or open wounds.
• Do not cover treated areas with airtight dressings unless advised by your doctor.

Xtraderm Cream 5 GM is applied topically.

Xtraderm Cream 5 GM contains the following components:

• Betamethasone (0.064%): This is a topical corticosteroid that reduces inflammation in the skin by suppressing the release and activity of inflammatory mediators and immune cells involved in skin reactions. This action decreases redness, swelling, itching, and discomfort associated with inflammatory skin conditions, allowing affected skin to recover while the infection is being treated.
• Clotrimazole (1%): This is an antifungal medicine that inhibits the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of fungal cell membranes. Reduction of ergosterol disrupts membrane structure and function, leading to leakage of cellular contents and inhibition of fungal growth, thereby controlling fungal infections affecting the skin.
• Gentamicin (0.1%): This is an aminoglycoside antibiotic that binds to the 30S ribosomal subunit in susceptible bacteria, interfering with bacterial protein synthesis. This results in the production of defective proteins and eventual bacterial cell death, helping eliminate bacteria involved in secondary skin infections.

• Store Xtraderm Cream 5 GM below 30°C.
• Keep away from direct sunlight and heat.
• Store in a dry place.
• Keep out of reach of children.

• Moisturise your skin regularly with a gentle, fragrance-free moisturiser to help maintain skin hydration and reduce dryness or irritation that may worsen skin conditions.
• Avoid hot showers, harsh soaps, and known skin irritants such as strong detergents, perfumes, or rough fabrics, as these can aggravate inflamed or infected skin.
• Wear loose, breathable cotton clothing to reduce sweating and moisture buildup, especially in skin folds where fungal infections commonly occur.
