Ventocore DL Tablet is used to provide long-term control of asthma and COPD, including allergy-triggered symptoms. It is a combination medicine containing acebrophylline (a bronchodilator), desloratadine (an antihistamine) and montelukast (a leukotriene receptor antagonist).
It helps keep the airways open, reduce mucus and prevent the inflammation that causes wheeze and breathlessness. It is not for a sudden attack. Take it, usually at night, in the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor, and keep a reliever inhaler for sudden breathlessness.
Avoid known allergy and asthma triggers such as dust, smoke and pollen, keep bedding clean and stay away from cold, dusty places.
Before starting, tell your doctor if you have heart problems or mental health concerns, as montelukast can occasionally cause mood or behaviour changes, and about all other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. Report palpitations, marked restlessness, new agitation, low mood or unusual thoughts. Follow the prescribed dose, frequency and duration, report persistent or serious side effects, and do not stop the medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
