CompositionVALFECT 40 MG Tablet 10 is used to lower and control high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults and children from 6 years of age. It is also used to help manage heart failure and to improve survival after a heart attack in people whose condition is stable.
It contains valsartan, which belongs to a group of medicines called angiotensin II receptor blockers (ARBs) that relax the blood vessels so blood flows more easily. Take it daily as prescribed, and keep taking it even when you feel well.
Reducing salt in your diet, staying active, keeping to a healthy weight and limiting alcohol support better blood pressure control alongside this medicine. Avoid potassium-based salt substitutes unless your doctor agrees.
Tell your doctor about any kidney or liver problems before starting, and about other medicines you take. Avoid this medicine in pregnancy. Report marked dizziness, fainting, or swelling of the face, lips or tongue.
