Tamodex 20 Tablet is used to manage breast cancer in adults, including cancer that has spread to other parts of the body. It is a single-ingredient non-steroidal antioestrogen medicine containing tamoxifen.
It also helps reduce the risk of breast cancer returning after surgery, radiation or chemotherapy. Take it at a fixed time in the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor. It is usually a long-term treatment, so continue it for the full duration your doctor recommends, even when you feel well.
Attend all scheduled check-ups, including eye and gynaecological reviews, and keep moving during long journeys or bed rest, as tamoxifen can raise the risk of blood clots.
Before starting, tell your doctor if you have a history of blood clots, are pregnant or take other hormone medicines, and about all other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. Report leg swelling or pain, sudden breathlessness or chest pain, unusual vaginal bleeding or vision changes immediately, as these may indicate a serious problem. Follow the prescribed dose, frequency and duration, report persistent or serious side effects, and do not stop the medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
