Tacrolius 2 Capsule 10 is used to help prevent the body from rejecting a transplanted kidney, liver or heart. It is a single-ingredient medicine belonging to the group called calcineurin inhibitor immunosuppressants, containing tacrolimus.
This medicine works by suppressing the immune system to stop it from attacking the new organ. Take it at the same times each day in the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor, and do not stop or change the dose without your doctor's guidance, as this could lead to organ rejection.
Avoiding excessive sun exposure and grapefruit or grapefruit juice supports treatment alongside this medicine, as these can affect how it works or increase sensitivity to sunlight.
Before starting, tell your doctor about any kidney or liver problems, high blood pressure or diabetes, and about other medicines, including supplements and herbal remedies, you take. Blood levels of this medicine are monitored regularly. Report any signs of infection, unusual tremors or changes in urine output promptly, and do not stop the medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
