Stablanz-PV Tablet 10 is used to relieve vertigo and balance problems caused by inner ear disorders, including Meniere's disease. It is a combination medicine containing betahistine (an anti-vertigo medicine), piracetam, vinpocetine, ginkgo biloba extract and vitamin D3.
This medicine also helps ease ringing in the ears (tinnitus), a feeling of fullness in the ear and nausea linked to these conditions. Betahistine helps reduce fluid pressure in the inner ear and improves blood flow there, while the other ingredients support circulation to the brain. Take it with food, in the dose and for the duration prescribed by your doctor.
Getting up slowly, avoiding sudden head movements and sitting down during a dizzy spell can reduce the risk of falls. Cutting down on salt, caffeine and alcohol may help if you have Meniere's disease.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have asthma, a stomach ulcer, a bleeding disorder, kidney or liver disease, a history of stroke with bleeding, or a tumour of the adrenal gland (phaeochromocytoma), and about other medicines you take, especially blood thinners. Do not take it if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding. Contact your doctor if you notice unusual bleeding or bruising, or if balance problems get worse. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
