SILVER PLUS Cream is used for managing and preventing infections in second- and third-degree burns. It contains silver sulfadiazine, a combination antiseptic and antibiotic medicine.
Silver sulfadiazine creates a protective barrier over the burned area and releases silver ions that kill a wide range of bacteria and fungi, helping prevent infection while the burn heals.
Apply the cream to clean, debrided burn wounds using a sterile gloved hand or applicator, in a layer about 3 to 5 millimetres thick, and reapply as your doctor or burns care team advises, usually once or as prescribed with dressing changes.
Tell your doctor if you have a known allergy to sulfa medicines, as silver sulfadiazine should be avoided in this case. Report any worsening redness, pus, fever, or a rash spreading beyond the treated area, as these may signal a worsening infection or allergic reaction.
