R Piptaz 4000mg/500mg Injection is a medicine used to treat severe bacterial infections, including pneumonia, urinary tract infections, abdominal infections, and gynaecological infections.
It contains piperacillin and tazobactam, which work together to kill susceptible bacteria and help clear the infection. This medicine is given by a healthcare professional as an injection into a vein, with the dose and duration decided by your doctor based on the type and severity of the infection.
Complete the full course as advised by your doctor, even if you start to feel better, to help prevent the infection from returning and to reduce the risk of antibiotic resistance. Your care team will monitor you during treatment for signs of improvement and any reactions.
Before treatment starts, tell your doctor about any known allergies, especially to penicillin or other antibiotics, as well as any kidney problems or other medicines you are taking. Tell your care team if you notice severe diarrhoea, a skin rash, or signs of an allergic reaction during or after treatment.
