Protobac 400/600 Mg Tablet 10 is used to treat infections of the digestive system and certain other infections caused by bacteria and parasites.

Uses of Protobac 400/600 Mg Tablet 10 are:

• Bacterial Diarrhoea: Treats acute diarrhoea caused by bacteria such as E. coli, Shigella, Salmonella, and Campylobacter.
• Amebic Dysentery and Amebiasis: Clears intestinal infection caused by Entamoeba histolytica.
• Giardiasis: Treats intestinal infection caused by Giardia lamblia.
• Trichomoniasis: Treats this sexually transmitted infection caused by Trichomonas vaginalis.

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.
• Avoid chewing or crushing the tablet.
• Take the medicine with food for better absorption and to avoid stomach upset.

Protobac 400/600 Mg Tablet 10 contains two active components:

• Norfloxacin (400 mg): This ingredient belongs to the fluoroquinolone class of antibiotics. It manages bacterial infections by blocking certain enzymes in bacteria called DNA-gyrase and topoisomerase IV. These enzymes are crucial for bacteria to replicate their DNA and reproduce. By inhibiting these enzymes, Norfloxacin causes the bacteria to die.
• Tinidazole (600 mg): Tinidazole is an antimicrobial agent that works against anaerobic bacteria and certain parasites. It enters these organisms and undergoes a chemical reaction that produces toxic substances. These toxic substances damage the DNA of these organisms, resulting in their death.

• Store Protobac 400/600 Mg Tablet 10 in a tightly closed container.
• Keep the medicine at room temperature, ideally below 30°C.
