Polydex Eye/ear Drops 5ml is a combination medicine used to treat inflammatory eye and ear conditions where a bacterial infection is present or at high risk of occurring. It helps reduce redness, swelling, itching, and bacterial growth.
It combines an antibiotic and a corticosteroid (dexamethasone). Instil the prescribed number of drops into the affected eye or ear as instructed by your doctor. Do not touch the dropper tip to any surface to prevent contamination. Use the drops for the exact duration prescribed; avoid stopping early or extending treatment without medical advice.
Practising proper eye and ear hygiene supports recovery. Avoid rubbing the affected eye or inserting cotton buds into the ear canal. Protect the eyes from dust and bright light, and avoid wearing contact lenses while treating an active eye infection unless cleared by your doctor.
Before using these drops, inform your doctor if you have viral or fungal eye/ear infections, a perforated eardrum, or glaucoma. Disclose all other eye or ear medicines you use. Report sudden changes in vision, severe eye pain, or hearing changes immediately.
