Pitmed 2 MG Tablet 10 is used for the following:

• Lowering high levels of LDL cholesterol

• Reducing elevated triglycerides in the blood

• Increasing levels of HDL cholesterol

• Preventing plaque buildup in arteries

• Reducing the risk of a heart attack

• Preventing stroke and cardiovascular complications

• Managing cholesterol alongside diet and lifestyle changes

• Managing hypercholesterolaemia

• Slowing the progression of atherosclerosis

• Supporting overall cardiovascular health

Follow these instructions while taking Pitmed 2 MG Tablet 10:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush, break, or chew the tablet.

• Take this medicine at the same time each day.

• You can take this tablet with or without food.

Pitmed 2 MG Tablet 10 is taken orally.

Pitmed 2 MG Tablet 10 contains pitavastatin (2 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• HMG-CoA Reductase Inhibition: Pitavastatin blocks an enzyme called HMG-CoA reductase that plays a key role in cholesterol production in your liver, effectively reducing the amount of cholesterol your body makes.

• Decreased cholesterol production: By decreasing cholesterol production, pitavastatin helps lower the levels of LDL, or "bad" cholesterol, in your bloodstream.

• Reduces Triglycerides: The medicine helps decrease the amount of triglycerides, which are another type of fat that can contribute to heart disease when present in high amounts.

• Increases HDL Cholesterol: Pitavastatin modestly raises the levels of HDL or "good" cholesterol, which helps remove other forms of cholesterol from your bloodstream.

• Store at room temperature (below 30°C).

• Keep in the original packaging to protect from light and moisture.

• Store in a dry place away from direct heat or sunlight.

• Keep out of reach of children.

• Do not use this medicine after the expiry date printed on the package.

• Follow a heart-healthy diet low in saturated fats and cholesterol to help lower your blood cholesterol levels alongside Pitmed 2 MG Tablet 10. This includes eating more fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins.

• Engage in regular physical activity (aim for at least 30 minutes most days) to help raise your HDL and improve your cardiovascular health.
