PIRFEDON 400 MG TABLET 15 is used for the following:

• Treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis in adults

• Slowing the progression of lung scarring

• Improving lung function over time

• Managing breathing difficulties from pulmonary fibrosis

• Alleviating cough associated with pulmonary fibrosis

Follow these instructions while taking PIRFEDON 400 MG TABLET 15:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush, break, or chew the tablet.

• Take it at the same time each day for the best results.

PIRFEDON 400 MG TABLET 15 is taken orally.

PIRFEDON 400 MG TABLET 15 contains pirfenidone (400 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Inhibits Growth Factors: Pirfenidone blocks specific proteins called growth factors that contribute to the formation of excess fibrous connective tissue in the lungs.

• Reduces Lung Scarring: It decreases the development of fibrosis, which is the abnormal formation of scar tissue that makes the lungs stiff and less able to function properly.

• Anti-Inflammatory Action: Pirfenidone helps reduce the swelling in lung tissues, which is one of the key factors in the progression of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.

• Preserves Lung Function: By targeting the mechanisms of scarring and inflammation, this medicine helps maintain better breathing capacity over time.

• Store at room temperature, ideally not exceeding 30°C.

• Keep away from excess heat, direct sunlight, and moisture.

• Store this medicine out of reach of children and pets.

• Do not use it after the expiry date printed on the packaging.

• Avoid smoking completely as it reduces the effectiveness of PIRFEDON 400 MG TABLET 15 and can worsen idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.

• Include breathing exercises in your daily routine to help manage breathlessness, a common symptom of lung fibrosis.
