Phalin 300 MG Tablet 10

Phalin 300 MG Tablet 10 is used for the following:

• Controlling tonic-clonic seizures in epilepsy

• Managing complex partial seizures

• Treating temporal lobe seizures

• Preventing seizures after brain surgery

• Controlling seizures following head injury

• Managing seizures after severe trauma

• Treating trigeminal neuralgia

Follow these instructions while taking Phalin 300 MG Tablet 10:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water.

• Do not crush, break or chew the tablet.

• Take this medicine regularly at the same time each day.

• Never stop taking this medicine suddenly without consulting your doctor.

Phalin 300 MG Tablet 10 is taken orally.

Phalin 300 MG Tablet 10 contains phenytoin (300 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Sodium Channel Blockade: Phenytoin blocks voltage-gated sodium channels on neurons in the brain, which prevents rapid and repetitive firing of nerve cells that can lead to seizures.

• Calcium Ion Regulation: It reduces the influx of calcium ions into neurons, which decreases their excitability and helps prevent the abnormal brain activity seen in epileptic seizures.

• GABA Enhancement: Phenytoin enhances the effect of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), an inhibitory neurotransmitter in the brain that helps calm excessive neuronal activity.

• Neuronal Stabilisation: By acting on brain cells, it stabilises electrical impulses and reduces excessive neuronal firing, helping to maintain normal brain function.

• Store Phalin 300 MG Tablet 10 at room temperature.

• Keep in a dry place, away from direct light and moisture.

• Store in the original packaging to protect the medicine.

• Keep out of reach of children.

• Do not use this medicine after the expiry date printed on the package.

• Maintain regular sleep patterns: Irregular sleep can trigger seizures in epilepsy. Try to sleep and wake up at consistent times each day to help reduce seizure frequency.

• Limit caffeine: Excessive caffeine may lower the seizure threshold. While one cup of tea or coffee is usually fine, avoid energy drinks.
