Otonorm Ear Drops 5ml

OTONORM EAR DROPS 5ML is used to:

• Treat bacterial and fungal infections of the outer ear canal
• Reduce ear canal inflammation, pain, and itching
• Control ear discharge and irritation
• Support the healing of the infected and irritated ear canal skin

Follow these instructions while using OTONORM EAR DROPS 5ML:

• Wash your hands before and after use.
• Only clean the outer ear if your doctor advises it; do not insert cotton swabs, fingers, or other objects into the ear canal.
• Tilt your head sideways or lie down with the affected ear facing upward.
• Instil the prescribed number of drops into the ear canal.
• Keep the head tilted for a few minutes to allow the drops to spread properly.
• Avoid touching the dropper tip to the ear or any surface.

OTONORM EAR DROPS 5ML is instilled into the ear canal.

OTONORM EAR DROPS 5ML contains the following components:

• Beclomethasone dipropionate (0.025 %): This corticosteroid works by calming the immune system’s overreaction in the ear. During infections, your body can cause swelling, redness, and itching as part of the inflammatory response. Beclomethasone reduces this inflammation, helping the ear canal feel less irritated and easing itching, redness, and swelling.
• Clotrimazole (1 %): It is an antifungal medicine. Fungi that infect the ear need certain components to grow and survive. Clotrimazole interferes with the fungal cell membrane, stopping the fungi from growing and multiplying. This helps the body clear the fungal infection and prevents it from spreading further in the ear canal.
• Gentamicin (0.3 %): It is an antibiotic that targets bacteria causing ear infections. Bacteria need to produce proteins to survive and multiply. Gentamicin interferes with bacterial protein production, killing the bacteria and stopping the infection. This reduces symptoms such as ear discharge, swelling, redness, and pain.
• Lidocaine/Lignocaine (2 %): It is a local anaesthetic. It temporarily blocks the nerve signals that send pain messages to the brain. This helps relieve pain, burning, or discomfort in the ear canal quickly while the other medicines work to treat the infection. The effect is temporary and wears off once the drug is absorbed or washed away.

• Store below 25°C away from heat and direct sunlight.
• Keep the bottle tightly closed after use.
• Store in a clean, dry place.
• Keep out of reach of children.
• Do not use after the expiry date.

• Keep the ear dry during treatment: Avoid water entering the ear while bathing or washing hair, as moisture can worsen or prolong infection.
• Avoid inserting objects into the ear canal: Do not use cotton buds, fingers, or other objects that can irritate or push debris deeper.
• Protect the ear from prolonged moisture exposure: Avoid swimming or long showers until your doctor confirms improvement.
• Maintain gentle ear hygiene: Clean only the outer ear with a soft cloth if needed. Over‑cleaning can remove natural protective earwax, increasing the risk of infection or irritation.
