Novaclav Dry Syrup 30 Ml is used in children to treat bacterial infections of the respiratory tract, urinary tract, skin, soft tissue, bone and joints, clearing infections that may resist plain penicillin antibiotics.

Uses of Novaclav Dry Syrup 30 Ml are:

• Respiratory Infections: Treats infections such as middle-ear, sinus and chest infections.
• Urinary Tract Infections: Clears bacterial infections of the urinary tract.
• Skin and Soft Tissue Infections: Treats bacterial infections of the skin and underlying tissue.
• Bone and Joint Infections: Also used for dental, bone and joint infections.

Administer Novaclav Dry Syrup 30ml to your child as follows:

• The dry syrup needs to be mixed with sterile water as per the instructions on the pack before you give it to your child.
• Ensure the bottle is shaken well each time before use.
• Remember that the syrup is sugar-based, so if your child has diabetes, please consult with your doctor before starting this medicine.
• The prepared suspension should be kept in the fridge and used within 7 days. If there's any leftover after this period, it should be discarded.

Novaclav Dry Syrup 30ml contains two active ingredients:

• Amoxicillin (200 mg): This ingredient works by stopping the production of bacterial cell walls. Cell walls are crucial for bacteria as they provide shape and protection. Amoxicillin targets these cell walls and disrupts their formation process, leading to bacterial cell death.

• Clavulanic Acid (28.5 mg): Although it doesn't have much antibacterial activity on its own, clavulanic acid plays a vital role in enhancing the effect of amoxicillin. It blocks certain enzymes known as beta-lactamases that are produced by bacteria to resist antibiotics like amoxicillin. By inhibiting these enzymes, clavulanic acid ensures amoxicillin can do its job effectively without being destroyed by these enzymes.

• Store the dry powder at room temperature, ideally below 25°C.
• Keep it in a tightly closed container to protect it from moisture and air.
• Once mixed with water, keep the suspension in the fridge.
• Use the prepared suspension within 7 days.
