Nefrozon Tablet is used as a supportive treatment in diabetic kidney disease (diabetic nephropathy), alongside standard diabetes and kidney care. It is a combination supplement containing acetylcysteine and taurine, both of which have antioxidant properties.
These ingredients may help reduce oxidative stress in the kidneys and may help limit the leakage of protein into the urine in some people. The evidence for these benefits is limited, so it is used in addition to, not instead of, the main treatments that protect the kidneys, such as blood sugar and blood pressure control. Take it as prescribed by your doctor.
Keeping blood sugar and blood pressure well controlled is the most important way to protect the kidneys. Follow any dietary advice on salt and protein, avoid painkillers such as ibuprofen unless your doctor agrees, and attend regular blood and urine tests.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have asthma, a stomach ulcer or a history of bleeding from the gut, and about other medicines and supplements you take. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Stop and seek medical help if you develop wheezing, breathing difficulty, swelling of the face or a widespread rash. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
