Nailon Nail Lacquer 5ml

Nailon Nail Lacquer 5ml is used for the following:

• Managing mild to moderate onychomycosis of fingernails and toenails: Onychomycosis is a fungal infection of the nails.
• Use in a comprehensive nail management program: This includes regular removal of the unattached, infected nail by a doctor.
• Addressing fungal infections caused by Trichophyton rubrum: This use is specific to patients with an intact immune system.

To use Nailon Nail Lacquer 5ml, follow these steps:

• Remove any loose nails using clippers or a filer before starting treatment.
• Apply the prescribed amount of lacquer evenly over the entire affected nail and 5 mm of surrounding skin once daily, preferably at bedtime. If possible, also apply it to the underside of the nail and hyponychium. Follow your doctor's instructions.
• Allow the lacquer to dry (about 30 seconds) before putting on socks or stockings.
• Wash your hands after application.
• Do not wash the treated area for at least 8 hours after application.
• Every week, remove the lacquer with alcohol, trim and file the nail to remove loose material, and then reapply fresh lacquer. Ensure you consult your doctor for specific directions.

Nailon Nail Lacquer 5ml consists of ciclopirox olamine (8%). This single ingredient works in the following ways:

• Chelation Effect: Ciclopirox olamine acts by binding to trivalent metal cations (Fe+3 or Al+3). This process is known as chelation, which results in inhibiting certain enzymes that degrade cell peroxides in fungi.
• Antifungal Effect: Ciclopirox olamine has shown antifungal activity against Trichophyton rubrum and Trichophyton mentagrophytes species in vitro studies. It helps manage the growth of these fungi, thus aiding in controlling fungal infections on nails and adjacent skin.

• Store Nailon Nail Lacquer 5ml in a tightly closed container at room temperature.
• Keep it away from heat or open flames because it is flammable.
• Avoid exposing the lacquer to light by keeping it in its original carton when not in use.
• Keep this medicine out of reach of children.

• Maintain good personal hygiene to prevent the spreading of fungal infection. Regularly clean and dry your feet, especially between your toes, and change socks daily.
• Wear breathable footwear as much as possible to minimise moisture buildup which can create an environment conducive for fungal growth.
