Misopt Eye Drops 5ml are used to lower raised eye pressure in adults with glaucoma or ocular hypertension, helping to protect the optic nerve and preserve sight.

Uses of Misopt Eye Drops 5ml are:

• Open-Angle Glaucoma: Lowers eye pressure to help protect sight.
• Ocular Hypertension: Controls high eye pressure before damage occurs.
• Optic Nerve Protection: Helps prevent optic nerve damage from high eye pressure.

Follow these instructions while using Misopt Eye Drops 5ml:

• Wash your hands thoroughly before instiling the drops.

• Shake the bottle well before use.

• Tilt your head back slightly and pull down your lower eyelid.

• Hold the dropper above your eye and place one drop in the affected eye.

• Close your eyes gently for 1-2 minutes to allow the medicine to spread.

• Wait at least 5 minutes before using any other eye drops.

• Remove contact lenses before instiling and wait 15 minutes before reinserting them.

• Avoid touching the dropper tip to prevent contamination.

Misopt Eye Drops 5ml contain three active ingredients:

• Dorzolamide (2%): Acts as a carbonic anhydrase inhibitor that blocks the enzyme carbonic anhydrase II in the ciliary epithelium of your eye. This reduces the production of aqueous humor (eye fluid), which helps lower the pressure inside your eye.

• Timolol (0.5%): Functions as a non-selective beta-blocker that decreases the production of aqueous humor in the ciliary epithelium. It also improves the outflow of fluid through the trabecular meshwork (drainage system) in your eye, further reducing intraocular pressure.

• Benzalkonium Chloride (0.02%): Serves as a preservative in the eye drop formulation. It helps prevent bacterial contamination of the solution, ensuring the medicine remains safe and effective throughout its use.
