Lumigan Ophthalmic Solution 3ml

Lumigan Eye Drops are used for the following:

• Reducing elevated intraocular pressure
• Managing open-angle glaucoma
• Treating ocular hypertension
• Preventing optic nerve damage
• Preserving vision in glaucoma patients
• Controlling pressure-related eye conditions
• Lowering eye pressure when other medicines fail

Follow these instructions while using Lumigan Eye Drops:

• Wash your hands thoroughly before instillation.
• Remove contact lenses before instilling the drops and wait 15 minutes before reinserting.
• Tilt your head back slightly and pull your lower eyelid down to create a small pocket.
• Place one drop into the pocket without touching the dropper to your eye.
• Close your eyes for 1-2 minutes and press gently against the corner of your eye.
• If using other eye medicines, wait at least 5 minutes between instillations.

Lumigan Eye Drops are instilled topically.

Lumigan Eye Drops contain bimatoprost (0.03%) and benzalkonium chloride (0.005%) that work in the following manner:

• Bimatoprost (0.03%): This active ingredient is a synthetic prostaglandin analogue that mimics naturally occurring prostaglandins in your body. It works by increasing the outflow of aqueous humour (the fluid inside your eye) through the eye's drainage system.
• Benzalkonium chloride (0.005%): This ingredient serves as a preservative in the eye drop solution to prevent contamination by harmful microorganisms. It helps maintain the sterility of the eye drops throughout their period of use.

• Store Lumigan Eye Drops at room temperature between 2°C and 25°C.
• Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use.
• Protect from light exposure.
• Do not use if the solution becomes cloudy or contains particles.
• Keep out of reach of children.
• Discard the product after the expiry date.

• Maintain healthy blood pressure through regular exercise and reduced salt intake. High blood pressure can worsen conditions like glaucoma by increasing pressure inside your eyes.
• Consider including foods rich in antioxidants (like leafy greens and colourful fruits) in your diet, which may support overall eye health and protect against oxidative stress.
