Linapride Em 1000mg Tablet 10 is used to manage blood sugar levels in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus when diet and exercise alone are not enough. It is a combination medicine containing empagliflozin (helps the kidneys pass extra glucose in the urine), linagliptin (helps the body release more insulin after meals and lowers the sugar released by the liver) and metformin (lowers the sugar made by the liver and helps the body respond better to insulin), and belongs to classes of medicines called SGLT2 inhibitors, DPP-4 inhibitors and biguanides.
This medicine works by lowering blood sugar in three different ways, helping control both fasting and after-meal glucose levels. Take it exactly as prescribed by your doctor, with meals unless advised otherwise, and use the dose and duration your doctor prescribes.
Following a controlled carbohydrate diet, staying physically active and checking your blood sugar regularly can help support the effectiveness of this medicine.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver problems or a history of urinary tract infections, and tell them before any scan that uses contrast dye or any surgery. Contact your doctor if you notice unusual thirst, frequent urination, signs of low blood sugar such as sweating or shakiness, or symptoms of lactic acidosis such as unusual muscle pain, fast breathing or extreme tiredness. It is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
