LEXMET 2 MG TABLET 10 is used to manage high blood sugar levels in adults with type 2 diabetes, helping prevent long-term complications such as kidney damage, eye problems, nerve damage and cardiovascular disease.
It contains glimepiride, a sulfonylurea. Take it just before or with the first main meal of the day, at the same time each day, and never skip meals while taking it, as this increases the risk of low blood sugar.
Eating balanced meals at regular times, exercising regularly, maintaining a healthy weight, avoiding sugary drinks and limiting alcohol support better blood sugar control alongside this medicine. Avoid excessive exposure to sunlight and use sunscreen, as it can occasionally increase skin sensitivity to sunlight.
Tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver problems, a history of low blood sugar, or are taking other medicines before starting. Carry a sugary snack in case of sudden low blood sugar. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before use.
