To use Ketomar Eye Drops, follow these steps:

• Ensure your hands are clean before instillation.

• Gently pull down your lower eyelid to create a small pocket.

• Hold the dropper above the eye and squeeze out a drop.

• Close your eyes for 2 to 3 minutes without blinking or squinting.

• Do not touch the dropper tip to any surface as it could contaminate the solution.

• If you are using another eye medication, wait at least 5 minutes before instilling it.

Ketomar Eye Drops contain two active ingredients:

• Gatifloxacin (0.3 %): As a fourth-generation fluoroquinolone antibiotic, gatifloxacin manages bacterial infections by inhibiting enzymes called DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV. These enzymes are vital for bacterial DNA replication, transcription, repair, and recombination. By blocking their action, gatifloxacin prevents the growth and multiplication of bacteria, thereby managing ocular infections.

• Ketorolac (0.4 %): Classified as a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medicine (NSAID), ketorolac works by inhibiting the synthesis of prostaglandins — substances that mediate certain kinds of intraocular inflammation. It blocks an enzyme called cyclooxygenase (COX) that is responsible for producing prostaglandins. This action helps manage inflammation in the eye following surgery.

• Benzalkonium Chloride (0.01 %): As an antimicrobial preservative in these eye drops, benzalkonium chloride targets bacterial cell membranes causing them to leak which ultimately leads to cell death. Its activity can either stop bacterial growth (bacteriostatic) or kill bacteria outright (bactericidal).

• Store Ketomar Eye Drops at a room temperature of 15°C to 25°C.
