CompositionK STAT 500 Tablet is used to control heavy or prolonged bleeding, particularly during menstruation (menorrhagia) or following minor surgical procedures. It contains ethamsylate, a haemostatic medicine, and is also effective for managing capillary bleeding.
Ethamsylate works by increasing the stickiness of platelets and strengthening the walls of small blood vessels (capillaries), which helps reduce capillary bleeding and control excessive blood loss.
Take this tablet as your doctor prescribes, generally starting a few days before an expected heavy bleeding episode when used for menstrual bleeding, or as directed around the time of a minor procedure.
Tell your doctor if you have a history of blood clots or porphyria, as ethamsylate needs caution in these conditions. Report any bleeding that does not improve, or worsens, despite treatment.
