• Etamsylate is available for use via oral route (tablet) and also as an injection.

Age and Dose Restrictions

• This medicine is meant for adults. Etamsylate can be used in neonates in the injectable form only if recommended by the doctor.

Contraindications

• This medicine is contraindicated in individuals who are allergic to etamsylate and in patients with porphyria (a condition where there is a defect in the synthesis of haemoglobin).

Other Medications To Avoid With This Medicine

• There are no known interactions of this medication with other medicines. However, you should always inform your doctor of all medicines, including over-the-counter medicines, that you were or have been taking. 

Overdose and Missed Dose

• If you take this medicine more than you should, inform your doctor and follow the advice accordingly.
• If you forget to take this medicine, take it as soon as you remember. But avoid repeating the dose.

• This medication will not impair your ability to drive or operate machinery.

• This medicine is not recommended in pregnancy and breastfeeding.

• Patients with renal or hepatic conditions should exercise caution when taking this medicine.

• Stay active to keep your weight in check. Eat fresh fruits and veggies, and avoid spicy, salty, and deep-fried foods for faster recovery. 
• Skip tea, coffee, and cold drinks. Hydrate well with plenty of fluids to keep blood flowing. 
• Say no to alcohol, which can dehydrate you and disrupt sleep. And finally, steer clear of both physical and mental stress for overall wellness.
• If you are a woman, you might need to have a gynaecological examination before starting this medicine to check for menstrual bleeding.
• Inform your doctor if you are scheduled for any laboratory tests that require blood sampling.
