Iganef 9 Tablet 10

Iganef-9 Tablet is used for the following:

• Treatment of moderate to severe ulcerative colitis
• Inducing remission in ulcerative colitis
• Maintaining remission in ulcerative colitis
• Reducing inflammation in the intestinal tract
• Management of Crohn's disease
• Relief from inflammatory bowel disease symptoms
• Decreasing intestinal inflammation
• Controlling flare-ups of bowel inflammation

Follow these instructions while taking Iganef-9 Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.
• Do not crush, chew or break the tablet.
• Do not suddenly stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor.
• If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember, unless it's nearly time for your next dose.
• Consult your doctor for specific advice on how to use this medicine.

Iganef-9 Tablet is taken orally.

Iganef-9 Tablet contains budesonide (9 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Anti-inflammatory action: Budesonide binds to glucocorticoid receptors inside cells, suppressing pro-inflammatory substances like cytokines and prostaglandins that cause intestinal inflammation.
• Targeted delivery: The controlled-release formulation ensures the medicine reaches the inflamed areas of your intestine (ileum and ascending colon) rather than being absorbed earlier in your digestive system.
• Local effect: Budesonide works directly on the intestinal lining to reduce swelling, redness, and irritation where the inflammation occurs.
• Minimal systemic absorption: The special coating allows the medicine to act primarily in the intestines, minimising how much enters your bloodstream and reducing potential whole-body side effects.

• Store Iganef-9 Tablet at room temperature in its original packaging.
• Keep the medicine in a tightly closed container, protected from light and moisture.
• Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
• Always keep this medicine out of sight and reach of children.
• Do not use Iganef-9 Tablet after the expiry date printed on the package.

• Low-fibre diet during flare-ups: During active ulcerative colitis episodes, consider eating low-fibre foods like white bread, pasta, and well-cooked vegetables to reduce bowel irritation and diarrhoea.
• Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of water throughout the day to prevent dehydration, which can worsen symptoms of inflammatory bowel disease and help maintain healthy bowel function.
