CompositionHostacycline 250 Capsule 15 is used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections caused by susceptible organisms, including infections of the respiratory tract, skin, soft tissues, urinary tract, eyes and intestines. It contains tetracycline, an antibiotic.
Tetracycline works by stopping bacteria from producing the proteins they need to grow and multiply, which clears the infection over the course of treatment.
Take this capsule with a full glass of water, and stay upright for at least thirty minutes afterwards, since tetracycline can irritate the food pipe if you lie down too soon. Complete the full course exactly as prescribed.
Avoid taking this medicine with dairy products, antacids, or iron or calcium supplements, as these reduce its absorption. This medicine increases sensitivity to sunlight, so use sun protection, and it should not be used in pregnancy or in children under eight years, as it can affect developing teeth and bones.
