Gentapen Eye/ear Drops 10ml

Gentapen Eye/ear Drops 10ml is used to:

• Treat bacterial infections of the eye
• Treat bacterial infections of the external ear
• Relieve irritation and discomfort associated with infections
• Help maintain moisture and lubrication on the eye surface

Follow these instructions while using Gentapen Eye/ear Drops 10ml:

For eye use:

• Wash your hands before and after use.
• Tilt your head back and gently pull down the lower eyelid.
• Instil the prescribed number of drops into the affected eye.
• Close the eye gently for 1–2 minutes after instillation.
• Avoid touching the dropper tip to any surface. 

For ear use:

• Wash your hands before use.
• Tilt your head to one side or lie down with the affected ear facing upward.
• Instil the prescribed number of drops into the affected ear.
• Keep the ear facing upward for a few minutes to allow the drops to spread.
• Avoid inserting objects into the ear canal.

Gentapen Eye/ear Drops 10ml is used topically into the eye or ear as directed by your doctor.

Gentapen Eye/ear Drops 10ml contains the following components:

• Gentamicin (0.3%): Gentamicin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic that works by binding to bacterial ribosomes and interfering with protein synthesis. This stops the growth of bacteria and helps clear infections of the eye and outer ear.
• Benzalkonium Chloride (0.02%): Benzalkonium chloride acts as an antimicrobial preservative that helps prevent microbial contamination and maintains sterility of the solution during use.
• Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose (HPMC) (0.025%): Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose is a lubricating agent that helps maintain moisture on the surface of the eye and reduces irritation and dryness during treatment.

• Store Gentapen Eye/ear Drops 10ml at room temperature below 25°C in a dry place.
• Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use.
• Protect from light and moisture.
• Keep out of reach of children.
• Do not use the medicine after the expiry date mentioned on the packaging.

• Maintain a balanced diet rich in fruits and vegetables to support overall health and recovery from infections.
• Stay well hydrated by drinking adequate fluids throughout the day, as proper hydration helps support normal body functions.
• Maintain good personal hygiene and avoid touching the eyes or ears unnecessarily to reduce the risk of infection.
