GENTALENE PLUS Cream is used to treat corticosteroid-responsive inflammatory skin conditions that have a secondary bacterial or fungal infection. It contains clotrimazole, an antifungal, together with an antibiotic and beclometasone, a corticosteroid.
Clotrimazole clears fungal growth, the antibiotic component controls the bacterial infection, and beclometasone reduces the accompanying inflammation, redness and itching, making the combination useful for mixed or infected inflammatory skin conditions.
Apply a thin layer to the affected area, usually two to as prescribed as your doctor advises, and use only for the recommended duration, since this cream contains a corticosteroid that can thin the skin with prolonged use.
Avoid using on the face or in skin folds for extended periods unless specifically directed, and do not cover the area with airtight dressings unless told to. Tell your doctor if the condition does not improve within the expected time, or if the skin becomes more irritated, so the treatment can be reviewed rather than continuing it on your own.
