Gabaneuron Tablet 10

Gabaneuron Tablet 10 is used for the following:

• Managing postherpetic neuralgia - pain that lingers after a shingles rash has cleared.
• Controlling diabetic peripheral neuropathy - nerve damage caused by high blood sugar levels.
• Easing the pain from trigeminal neuralgia and glossopharyngeal neuralgia.
• Providing relief from other neuropathic pain conditions such as post-surgical chronic pain.

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.
• Avoid crushing or chewing the tablet.
• The medicine can be taken with or without food. Having it with meals might help reduce potential side effects.
• Do not take more than the recommended dose without consulting your doctor.
• It's important not to stop taking this medicine without speaking to your doctor.

Gabaneuron Tablet 10 is taken orally.

Gabaneuron Tablet 10 contains two active ingredients:

• Methylcobalamin (0.5 mg): This is an activated form of vitamin B12 that plays an important role in nerve health. It promotes protein synthesis leading to regeneration and repair of damaged nerves. Additionally, it enhances the production of myelin sheath, which is a protective layer around nerve fibres, thereby improving nerve conduction velocity. These actions of methylcobalamin contribute to its neuroprotective effects and may improve nerve cell function.
• Gabapentin (300 mg): This component works by binding to certain parts of your nerve cells, known as voltage-gated calcium channels. This action helps modulate the release of excitatory neurotransmitters like glutamate, substance P and CGRP, which transmit pain signals in your brain. By doing so, gabapentin effectively reduces abnormal excitement in the brain that leads to neuropathic pain.

• Keep it away from excessive light and moisture.

• Maintain a balanced diet rich in vitamins, especially vitamin B12, to support nerve health. Foods like dairy products, eggs, and certain fish (like salmon) are good sources of vitamin B12.
• If you're dealing with diabetic neuropathy, it's crucial to maintain your blood sugar levels. Stick to a diet low in sugar and high in fibre. Regular exercise can also help maintain healthy blood sugar levels. Always consult your doctor before starting any new diet or exercise regime.
