Uses of Gabapentin + Methylcobalamin

Gabapentin + Methylcobalamin is used to relieve nerve pain and support nerve health in various neurological conditions.

This combination is commonly used for:

• Diabetic neuropathy: Relieves burning, tingling, and numbness caused by nerve damage due to diabetes.
• Post-herpetic neuralgia: Eases persistent nerve pain that continues after a shingles infection has cleared.
• Epilepsy: Helps control certain types of seizures as part of your treatment plan.
• Spinal cord injury-related pain: Reduces nerve pain arising from spinal cord damage.
• Nerve regeneration: Supports the repair of damaged nerves alongside pain relief.

Side effects of Gabapentin + Methylcobalamin

  • Tiredness
  • Sleepiness
  • Uncoordinated body movement
  • Dizziness

How Gabapentin + Methylcobalamin works

Gabapentin + Methylcobalamin combines an anticonvulsant with a form of vitamin B12 to relieve nerve pain from two directions.

Gabapentin acts on calcium channels in nerve cells, reducing the release of chemical messengers involved in transmitting pain signals. This helps stabilise abnormal nerve activity and reduces neuropathic pain and seizures.

Methylcobalamin is the active form of vitamin B12. It supports the production of myelin, the protective covering around nerve fibres, and aids in the repair and regeneration of damaged nerves.

Together, both medicines relieve pain while supporting the underlying nerve health, making this combination useful for long-term nerve-related conditions.
