Fenobire 145 Tablet 10

Fenobire 145 Tablet 10 is used to manage abnormal blood fat levels.

Uses of Fenobire 145 Tablet 10 are:

• High triglycerides: This medicine helps lower very high levels of triglycerides (a type of fat in your blood), especially when these levels could cause inflammation of the pancreas.
• Mixed dyslipidaemia: It is used when both cholesterol and triglycerides are raised, helping to lower total cholesterol, bad cholesterol (LDL) and triglycerides whilst raising good cholesterol (HDL).
• High cholesterol with statin intolerance: This medicine may be used to manage raised cholesterol in people who cannot take statins or in whom statins have not worked well enough.

Follow these instructions whilst taking Fenobire 145 Tablet 10:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.
• You may take it with or without food, as directed by your doctor.
• Do not crush, chew or break the tablet.
• Take the medicine at the same time each day to help you remember.
• Do not take more than the recommended dose.

Fenobire 145 Tablet 10 is taken orally.

Fenobire 145 Tablet 10 contains fenofibrate (145 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Activates PPAR-alpha receptors: Fenofibrate activates special receptors in the liver called peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha (PPAR-alpha). These receptors control how your body handles fats.
• Increases breakdown of triglyceride-rich particles: By activating PPAR-alpha, this medicine increases the activity of an enzyme called lipoprotein lipase, which speeds up the breakdown and removal of very-low-density lipoproteins (VLDL) from the blood, thereby lowering triglycerides.
• Enhances fatty-acid processing: The medicine increases the uptake and burning of fatty acids in the liver, reducing the amount of triglyceride available to form new VLDL particles.
• Raises HDL cholesterol: It increases production of proteins called apolipoproteins A-I and A-II, which help build more HDL cholesterol (the "good" cholesterol) in your blood.

• Store below 30°C in the original packaging to protect from light and moisture.

• Keep the strip in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat.

• Always keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.

• Do not use any tablet after the expiry date printed on the pack.

• Discard damaged strips properly through a pharmacy take-back service.

• Limit saturated-fat-rich foods: Choose more whole grains, vegetables, fruits, pulses and other fibre-rich foods while limiting foods high in saturated fat, as dietary measures are an important part of managing abnormal blood lipid levels.

• Stay physically active: Aim for regular physical activity suited to your fitness level, as maintaining a healthy weight and being active support long-term lipid management.
