FEBUGLOB 80MG TABLET 10 is used to treat gout by lowering the level of uric acid in the blood. Keeping uric acid low helps prevent the build-up of crystals in the joints, reducing gout attacks, joint pain and inflammation, and protecting the joints from long-term damage.
It contains febuxostat, which belongs to a group of medicines called xanthine oxidase inhibitors. It is often used for people who cannot take or did not respond well to allopurinol. Take it as prescribed by your doctor. Do not stop it suddenly, as this can trigger a gout flare.
A diet lower in purine-rich foods, such as red meat, organ meats and certain seafood, along with limiting alcohol, staying well hydrated and keeping to a healthy weight, supports lower uric acid levels alongside this medicine.
Tell your doctor about any heart, liver or kidney problems before starting, and about other medicines you take. When you first start, you may have more gout flares for a while; your doctor may give a medicine to help with this. Report chest pain or signs of a skin reaction.
