EPITRA 500 Tablet is used to treat various types of seizures associated with epilepsy, including partial-onset, myoclonic and generalised tonic-clonic seizures. It contains levetiracetam, an anti-epileptic medicine.
Levetiracetam works by steadying abnormal electrical activity in the brain, which helps prevent the excessive nerve signalling that leads to seizures, so regular use reduces how often seizures occur.
Take this tablet at the same times each day, with or without food, exactly as your doctor prescribes, and never change your dose without medical advice.
Do not stop this medicine suddenly, even if you feel well, as abruptly stopping an anti-epileptic medicine can trigger seizures. Tell your doctor if you notice new low mood, irritability, unusual behaviour, or thoughts of self-harm.
